Poverty

Poverty grounds me in a prison
Wearing a black robe with a stick in the hand
Keeping me away from happiness

  1. Dear Hope in the Dark Desert! I understand about POVERTY from your poem. POVERTY is scary and mean and limiting. Your images are good--"prison" and "a stick in the hand." I wonder if you have ever experienced poverty. I think you haven't but you seem to understand it. Thinking about the opposite of POVERTY...WEALTH...do you think that condition could also be a prison and a stick in the hand? I really want to know what you think?
